Voice of Change & 16 Days 16 Films

As supporters of arts-based projects, Voice of Change champions meaningful education about – and action against – domestic family violence and sexual violence. We believe everyone has a role to play in prevention, and that films like those showcased through 16 Days 16 Films can bring insight and understanding to all around the experience of gender-based violence.

2023 is the first year 16 Days 16 Films has been open to Australian female-identifying filmmakers – joining others from USA, UK, Ireland, Mexico, Italy Germany and France. The diverse perspectives shared each year are an emotive starting point for the conversations and education that lead toward meaningful action and change.

With 16 Days 16 Films being an event for the whole community, Voice of Change are promoting and connecting Australian audiences and Australian filmmakers with the opportunity to participate in this year’s global 16 Days of Activism.

This year UN Women Australia are looking to turn 16 Days of Activism into 365 days of Action – because women have the right to be safe, everywhere, always.
Safe. Everywhere. Always. is a call to action to come together and commit to meaningful change. We all have a role to play in making safer spaces for women everywhere and always.
